National Bronze for Francophones from University of Petru Maior

Translation competition of a francophone author „Mot-à-monde” , organized by the French Institute of Cluj-Napoca, gathers students from all universities in Romania and Moldova. “This year, text submitted for translation was extracted from the novel” Made in Mauritius “by Amal Sewtohul, 2013 winner of the Prize of Five Continents, provided by the International Organization of the Francophonie. Crina Anghel and Vlad Butiu, students of Applied Modern Languages of the University “Petru Maior” University of Targu-Mures obtained a deserved third place in this prestigious competition. Contest finalists had occasional meeting with the author, representing a unique opportunity for debate and exchanges of francophone culture. Tirgu Mures was a host of the International Summer Academy 2014 BEST. The fourth anniversary of this event, which runs from 6 to 13 July, brings together over 50 students from Romania, France, Slovakia and Moldova to learn how to develop business projects under the coordination of 10 trainers.
Students, teachers and professionals will develop business projects for the topic of “Treasures of Nature – Treasures from Nature”, which will be defended in front of an international jury. Intenational Summer Academy is organized by the Faculty of Economics, Law and Administration at the University Petru Maior and IUT-University Louis Pasteur de Strasbourg. In the opening ceremony of the event, hosted by UPM Targu Mures, organizers and staff have talked to students about entrepreneurship in educational environment.
“This is the fourth time we organize this seminar. It is a summer university called BEST. Thanks to my colleague, co-founder, Alan Ciucan for availability and effort to organize this event, “said Jean-Claude Million (Univ. de Strasboug).

Students will participate in seminars which will take place at the Cultural and Scientific Center of Complex UPM Weekend and meet with businessmen from various fields. They will have to draw up feasible projects of entrepreneurship that will be judged.

Between 24 to 26 February 2014 there was the first visit of the team of expert assessors at the “Petru Maior” University of Targu Mures within the second round of institutional assessment. During the visit, the team of evaluation experts EUA-IEP met the team members of institution’ s self-evaluating team and other stakeholders.

University “Petru Maior” of Targu-Mures organized with a help of Students League of UPM a great show where the most beautiful and daring freshmen fought for the great title of MISS BOBOC UPM 2013 on November 25.
Ball started at 17:00 at the Culture House “Mihai Eminescu”, presenting the homecoming theme of “Carnival” which means more freedom, color and masks pompous but above the elegance given by young freshmen.
Contestants participated on the breathtaking talent show, on a parody of the dance gypsy dancing shadows, on shadow dance; on seductive performing of romantic Celine Dion’s song from Titanic’s soundtrack and a stand uncomedy.
While the jury, composed of teachers, awarded the title of Miss Freshman, a number of humorous moments offered by Bum Squad Cluj took place on stage.

- How do you feel now that you have been chosen Miss?
I feel very good, honestly I did not expect it, I have to thank to a lot of people and I am very happy that I won.
- Along with winning this competition, do you think about a future career?
I do not know yet, I never thought about it, it depends.
- What do you study?
Faculty of Science and Letters, the program of International Relations and European Studies.
Also in the prom was held a raffle at Avon presented by Marcela Pas, Căliman Paula Maria won a package of Avon products.
After choosing Miss Freshman, the fun continued with an after party at Jazz Blues Club, at 22.00, with special guest Puya.
